Saturday In The Park

I haven't had any time to shoot in a long while.

This weekend, I taught my 70 something Mom how to shoot a 1911 and a S&W Model 10 using a modified Weaver stance.

My brother has had her out to the range before, but with 9mm's and 22lr.

Looks like she's going to go for a 9mm after trying the range of pistols we had available.  Not only that, but it looks like this formerly anti-gun Englishwoman has caught the bug and might start practicing as much as she can afford to! YAY! A Convert!

The same afternoon, my son showed his grandparents his prowess with a .22lr rifle. Thanks to all of his time spent at Family Firearms Day, he's an old pro now.

Then the newest shooter in the family was my daughter, Ava. Sat on my lap and shot her brother's rifle, (.22lr Criket) and a revolver. She didn't hit anything. Just shot them downrange.

She doesn't care for the revolver, but she's all into getting a pink Criket rifle soon. With"Hello Kitty" on it. I'm thinking that she'd look cute in one of those Kalishnakitty t-shirts, but they wouldn't let her wear it to school.

Grandma took the kids back to her house and my brother and father and I did some off hand shooting.
I misheard my brother when I set up his 3/4" steel target and perforated it with my M1 Garand.  Cover into concealment. Woops.

Anyway,  it was a great way to spend an afternoon with all three generations of the family in one place.
