I've just started reading Part I, and I'm looking forward to reading Part II and Part III as soon as I can. I have a Bersa 644 that has feeding problems.

There was close to 100 women in attendance. They had the opportunity to learn how to handle pistols, shotguns, rifles and bows/arrows.
I worked as a rifle instructor. From talking to some of the ladies, they were there because their husbands owned guns but never included them in their shooting activities. Some ladies had plenty of experience shooting shotguns, but no experience with pistols or rifles. Far more had no experience whatsoever and wanted to get a taste of shooting before they go out and buy their first gun.
The ladies were great. At the rifle station, we had four shooting benches and four instructors. We (the instructors) took as much time as we could to try and make sure that each shooter had a positive experience and because of that, things slowed down a little bit when they got to the rifle station.
But I didn't hear any complaints and when a group showed up and one of them started knocking down steel plates like an FBI sniper, they'd cheer her on and applaud.
Here is a group picture of the women who came out. I think the attendance was somewhere between 90 and 100. There was a prize table too. Events like this seem to be easy to collect swag for. There was t-shirts, ball caps, gun cleaning kits, air soft guns and a few other things. Each woman received a certificate of completion from the NRA.

I've tried to tell people that the origin of gun control laws in the US have nothing to do with public safety but everything to do with population control.
The JPFO has produced a short documentary discussing the racist origins of modern gun control laws.

I hate taking off handguards. But sometimes you have to.
This video shows you a very cheap solution to getting them to come off properly.

It's useful for anyone who owns a 1022. I didn't realize they could be successfully taken apart and cleaned.
Thanks Mr. Rasch!

The Myth of 90 Percent: Only a Small Fraction of Guns in Mexico Come From U.S.
While 90 percent of the guns traced to the U.S. actually originated in the United States, the percent traced to the U.S. is only about 17 percent of the total number of guns reaching Mexico.
EXCLUSIVE: You've heard this shocking "fact" before -- on TV and radio, in newspapers, on the Internet and from the highest politicians in the land: 90 percent of the weapons used to commit crimes in Mexico come from the United States.
-- Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said it to reporters on a flight to Mexico City.
-- CBS newsman Bob Schieffer referred to it while interviewing President Obama.
-- California Sen. Dianne Feinstein said at a Senate hearing: "It is unacceptable to have 90 percent of the guns that are picked up in Mexico and used to shoot judges, police officers and mayors ... come from the United States."
-- William Hoover, assistant director for field operations at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, testified in the House of Representatives that "there is more than enough evidence to indicate that over 90 percent of the firearms that have either been recovered in, or interdicted in transport to Mexico, originated from various sources within the United States."
There's just one problem with the 90 percent "statistic" and it's a big one:

I'm not talking about unwrapping it and plopping it into the pan. I'm talking about getting it out of it's original packaging and making it ready to cook.
Michelle at Six Meat Buffet has a post about learning to get your chicken dinner out of the chicken.
Not for the timid.
